... but it seems rumours of Canyon Ceman's discharge were premature.

Sonjay Dutt has left his position as a WWE producer.

Fightful Select broke the news on Tuesday, noting that the former IMPACT Wrestling star had made the decision to leave the promotion of his own accord. No further details on Dutt's departure had emerged at the time of writing.

Best known for his work in TNA/IMPACT, Dutt wrestled his last match in December 2017, then announced the following month that he was going under the knife for a torn Achilles. He effectively retired after that, never returning to the squared circle before being brought into WWE in a production role in January 2019.

Dutt is yet to comment on his departure.

On top of this, long-standing WWE senior vice president of talent development Canyon Ceman was reported to have been let go by WWE yesterday as well. This has since been denied by WWE, however, who claim Ceman is still with the promotion, having reached out to the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer - who broke the story in the first place.

Ceman, a former professional beach volleyball player, has been with WWE since March 2012. He is responsible for much of the company's development system.
