Tessa Blanchard looks set to become a part of the soon-to-be-revived Women of Wrestling project, reports Fightful Select.
Per the writeup, WOW's relaunch is set to be announced via a press conference on Wednesday 6 October, with Blanchard set to be part of the promotion. Whether or not Tessa has actually inked a deal with the group is still to be determined, though this is planned.
WOW's relaunch won't be an immediate one. Blanchard aside, the Jeanie Buss-owned project hasn't assembled a talent roster, with Fightful adding that the wrestlers the outlet had spoken to that were previously part of WOW haven't yet been contacted for the comeback.
Formed in 2000, WOW's original run lasted for 24 episodes and a single pay-per-view, ending in 2001. WOW was brought back for its latest series on AXS TV in 2019 and featured such wrestlers as Blanchard, Jessicka Havok, Kiera Hogan, and more, but stopped airing that November, ending its relationship with AXS the following year.
Blanchard, meanwhile, has been a free agent since an acrimonious split from IMPACT Wrestling in June 2020. Though AEW and WWE have been linked to Tessa, who faced accusations of racist bullying from multiple peers in January 2020, the speculation has been dismissed on multiple occasions.
