Rumour Killer On WWE/AEW Signing Tessa Blanchard

Maybe it's time to stop making "Tessa Blanchard to AEW/WWE" a thing?

Neither WWE nor AEW currently have any plans to sign Tessa Blanchard.

This is according to Bodyslam.net's Cassidy Haynes, who states that the only major American wrestling promotion that has held talks with Blanchard since her IMPACT departure in June 2020 is the NWA. AEW and WWE do not plan on having her appear for them anytime soon.

"She's nuclear. Nobody wants near her," said one of Haynes' sources.

It seems this reputation extends beyond the mainstream wrestling scene, too, with one independent promotion claiming they "had to stay away" from Tessa because of said "nuclear" heat a few months ago.

Blanchard sparked speculation of a move to WWE NXT last week, posting a photograph of her posing with Ted DiBiase-branded dollar bills to her Twitter feed. Her name was also chanted during AEW All Out 2021's Casino Battle Royale on Sunday (5 September), though these weren't entirely positive, with the "we want Tessa" calls met with shouts of "no we don't" from other portions of the audience.

Blanchard, 26, remains a controversial figure in wrestling not only for the manner of her IMPACT departure, but also the January 2020 racism scandal that saw multiple wrestlers accuse her of spitting in black wrestler La Rosa Negra's face and using a slur during a tour of Japan.
