7. 2020 | MJF Bullies Small Grieving Child, Immediately Regrets It

MJF is a genius because he knows the exact coordinates of the fabled line that a pro wrestler cannot cross - and he saunters up to that line, dangerously close, and thrusts his c*ck right up against it without getting into significant trouble. In order to create a lifetime memory for a small, grieving child, MJF concocted the ultimate risk/reward idea at the Brodie Lee: Celebration Of Life AEW Dynamite special. 

Brodie Lee passed away on December 26, 2020 from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. He left behind his wife, Amanda Huber, and their two children, Brodie and Nolan. Brodie was old enough to realise what had happened. He was also the biggest AEW fan in the world. In pandemic conditions, at the Celebration, he was allowed to hang out with the babyface wrestlers as one of the audience member stand-ins. 

On the show, MJF teamed with Santana and Ortiz to take on Brodie Lee’s mates Hangman Page, John Silver and Alex Reynolds. During the match, MJF ventured outside. He spotted young Brodie, Jr. in the crowd wearing a Dark Order mask. To reiterate, this young boy had just lost his father. There was a significant risk that this might have veered far too close to the cheapest realm of carny heat on an otherwise perfect night. MJF ripped the mask off the kid’s head and spat on it. Then, Brodie, Jr. was handed a kendo stick. He brayed MJF across the forehead with it. Excalibur has never sounded more human in his guffawing eruption of joy. Then the camera panned to Brodie, Jr. The look on the kid’s face was the most powerful wrestling moment possibly ever. He was absolutely thrilled to bits that he got to clean that loudmouth’s clock. 

A kid who thought it was real beating up the biggest baddie in a moment designed to make him escape reality: this was the apex of pro wrestling’s very purpose.
