The Hardys In Talks With WWE, More Appearances Coming Soon? (WWE News)
Matt and Jeff Hardy detail "ongoing talks" with WWE.
We recently had the pleasure of grabbing some time with TNA Tag Team Champions, the legendary Hardys to discuss a wide variety of topics, from TNA's recent AMC move, to what's left to do for Matt and Jeff, to AJ Styles' retirement, to Leon Slater, and plenty, plenty more. And of course, one other subject that came up was the possibility of seeing the Hardys back in WWE in some form or fashion.
For Jeff Hardy, the Charismatic Enigma believes there's a chance to deliver a moment as big as the Hardys' surprise WWE return at WrestleMania 33:
"When we returned in 2017 at [WrestleMania] 33, that was such a big moment. I think my number one moment of our careers, without a doubt. I can't help but question, could there be another moment like that, a future memory, that we could surprise people again? I feel like there's many possibilities and ways that it can be done and feel really good."
Going further, Matt Hardy detailed "ongoing talks" that the tandem has had with WWE, again teasing "another WrestleMania Moment" for the brothers:
"I think WWE looks at us as legacy talent. They still kind of accept us as the [WWE] family, especially with the stuff we did where we were the first TNA, people legitimately under TNA contract, we went to the WWE and won WWE championships, with the WWE NXT Titles, which we also set a really cool record. We were the only team to win in four consecutive decades WWE Tag Team Title gold. In the '90s, we were champions; in the 2000s, we were champions; in the 2010s, we were champions; and now, in the 2020s, we were champions. So that's very cool. But we have a lot of ongoing talks with WWE about doing a couple of things here and there, so I think the possibilities of us popping up sometime, it could be whenever, you never, never know. If the Royal Rumble, when it was in the States, you might have seen us in the Royal Rumble. But it's really cool, it's really unique to have this relationship, and be able to have that path to go to WWE and do stuff whenever. And as far as WrestleMania, it is the Showcase of the Immortals, it is the biggest event of the year, every single year, and we definitely would love to have another WrestleMania Moment before it's all said and done. So with that, I'll just leave it up to your imagination."
Two of the biggest names in TNA, and heavily pushed as the faces of the company during the Anthem outfit's recent move to AMC, the Hardys were in action on Friday at No Surrender, teaming with the Righteous in a losing effort against Order 4 - with further tensions teased between the Hardys and Vincent and Dutch.
As for WWE, the Hardys stopped by NXT for a couple of matches at the start of last year, then returned in October to take the NXT Tag Titles from DarkState, before losing those belts back to Dion Lennox and Osiris Griffin at Halloween Havoc later that month. In terms of main roster TV, Jeff Hardy last competed on a November 2021 edition of SmackDown, teaming with Drew McIntyre to pick up a win over Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss, whilst Matt Hardy was last in action in a loss to Erick Rowan on a January 2020 Raw. And if the Hardys get their way, it sounds like there may still be one or two more WWE appearances down the line for the veteran tag team...
