The Undertaker Lands Powerful New Role In Wrestling (WWE News)
WWE legend The Undertaker is set for huge backstage influence...but not on Raw, SmackDown or NXT!
Triple H has called The Undertaker "one of the big driving forces behind AAA". Fightful Select reports that 'The Deadman' is considered "an influential figure" behind the scenes at the Mexican company, and that's expected to continue for the foreseeable future. As Hunter himself said, not many could've seen this coming.
On that, Trips added that it "would be hard for [him] to sort of wrap [his] head around" thoughts that 'Taker would have a key role in AAA had somebody clued him in 20 years ago. It just seemed like such an impossibility, but here we are in 2025 living it. This pro wrestling biz is wild, eh?
Undertaker was on hand for AAA's Triplemania XXXIII event on 16 August. 'The Game' and Shawn Michaels were there too. The trio were representing WWE and further establishing the market leader's stronghold on AAA. Other clips online showed Hunter vowing that they were there to make AAA stronger, not dominate it with WWE-style decision making.
It's very interesting that The Undertaker seems to have a lot of influence behind the curtain at AAA though. Fightful's write up included word that 'Taker will be backstage for the group's shows more often heading into the final few months of the year.
For added context, Triplemania is considered to be AAA's version of WrestleMania. Some have also compared it to New Japan's annual Wrestle Kingdom events.
Stay tuned for more word on precisely what Undertaker's role at AAA shows will be going forwards. He certainly carries a ton of respect worldwide in wrestling, but it remains to be seen exactly what 'Taker will be doing on show days.
