The WORST Moment From EVERY WWE SummerSlam

19. The Great Khali’s Awful Performance (2007)

Bless him for trying, but big Dave Batista was never going to squeeze much of anything from The Great Khali at SummerSlam 2007. It's easy to forget just how rubbish Khali was with most guys in-ring. He could barely even move around freely or maintain his balance on wounded knees during most performances, and it was painful to witness.

At nearly 7 minutes, Khali's World Heavyweight Title defence vs. Big Dave felt like it went 77 mins. Worse, it finished with the reigning champ getting himself intentionally disqualified so he'd hold onto the belt and continue torturing weekly SmackDown audiences with a longer title reign than anyone wanted.

People really hoped (and prayed) that Batista would score the win and the belt here. Nope, creative decreed that Khali had to march on...and on...and on....and, yeah - you get the point. Imagine they'd put the WWF Title on Giant Gonzalez in 1993. That's the kind of rotten fare WWE handed out like it was must-see in '07.

Everyone knew Khali sucked between the ropes, but he was physically massive and "an attraction". So, Vince was willing to turn a blind eye to some of the worst matches he'd ever willingly promoted. John Cena and Randy Orton must've been thanking their lucky stars that this car crash went on right before their own main event.

They couldn't fail after watching Khali flounder around the place. Cena and Orton could've played a round of dominoes out there and still received a higher star rating than the World Title clash.
