Per WWE itself, Sasha Banks is injured.

The promotion announced the following on Saturday, confirming that the former Raw and SmackDown Women's Champion is expected to miss 6-8 weeks after injuring her foot while wrestling on a house show last week:-

Sasha Banks suffered a foot injury Sunday evening at a WWE Live! event in Fayetteville, NC. After seeking emergency medical attention, it was determined nothing was broken. Sasha underwent an MRI and it was discovered she has a bruised calcaneus bone. She is at home recovering and undergoing physical therapy. She is expected to be out of action for 6-8 weeks.

News that Banks may have been hurt broke last Sunday. Working Charlotte Flair in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Sasha's knee took an awkward landing off a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. While she was able to finish the match, which Flair won, Banks required help to leave the ring after the referee threw up the "X" signal - the universal sign of a legitimate wrestling injury.

Banks last wrestled on WWE television on SmackDown's 17 December episode, teaming with Toni Storm in a win over Flair and Shotzi.

In an update, Fightful Select have noted that WWE creative were already operating under the assumption that Banks was going to be missing for a while, having started planning for her to not be involved in the Royal Rumble (29 January).

At the time of writing, Banks was not expected to miss WrestleMania 38 (2 and 3 April).
