With yesterday bringing the news that the WWE-bound Giulia suffered a wrist injury at Monday's debut show for Rossy Ogawa's new Marigold promotion, there's now somewhat of an update on how that injury may impact the hugely talented star's impending NXT arrival.

As per Corey Brennan of Fightful Select, WWE remains hopeful that Giulia will be cleared in time to compete at NXT Heatwave on 7 July. Previously, tentative plans were in place for the 30-year-old to make her debut by facing Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women's Title at that show. Those plans could change due to Giulia's fractured wrist, but the hope is that the match will still take place at Heatwave.

After months of speculation over her future, Giulia officially departed Stardom at the end of March. Since then, the former World of Stardom Champion was shown on camera at NXT Stand & Deliver last month - sat alongside William Regal and Ogawa, no less - and was in attendance for WrestleMania XL as she gets set to join the market leader.

One caveat to Giulia signing with WWE, was that she would help Stardom co-founder Rossy Ogawa launch Marigold. On that front, Giulia will remain "available" to be used by Marigold for a spell once she officially starts with NXT, with her already booked to face Sareee at Marigold's Summer Destiny event on 13 July. Much like her proposed Heatwave match, there is a belief in Marigold that this current injury problem will be healed up by the time Summer Destiny rolls around.

As for Giulia and WWE, she's expected to head-up the next WWE Performance Center class, which is a class that will also reportedly feature several names from the company's Australia tryouts earlier this year. Presentation-wise, it sounds as if there won't be many, if any, changes to Giulia, with Fightful's Brennan told that Giulia was signed for "who she is" and that there's a sense of not looking to fix something that isn't broken. The "language barrier" is also said to not be of any concern, with this far less of an issue in the Paul Levesque-driven WWE than it was in previous years, as highlighted by how the likes of IYO Sky, Asuka, Kairi Sane, and Shinsuke Nakamura have been allowed to speak their native Japanese on WWE programming in recent times. That said, WWE has been impressed with Giulia's commitment to improving her English.
