Vince McMahon's 20 Biggest Real-Life Feuds

8. Jesse Ventura

Several of the feuds discussed in this article share a common denominator and that involves litigation. Many of Vince's former talents felt so strongly against McMahon that they took their arguments to the courts. Vince and WWE have the legal resources to tie-up many cases in courts for a length of time that even the most well-paid professional wrestlers would have a hard time matching. Unfortunately for those talents, the end often came when the talents were forced to drop the case due to expensive ongoing legal fees, or if Vince would simply win the case. One of the few people who actually defeated Vince McMahon in the legal system was the man known as Jesse "The Body" Ventura. In negotiating with Ventura in the late 80s, McMahon lied to Jesse when he stated he did not pay royalties to his talents. That mistruth later came back to haunt Vince in the courts when it was revealed that Vince did, in fact, pay royalties to his talents but only to a select few (most notably Hulk Hogan and Mr. T). Ventura won the legal battle due to quantum meruit and Jesse still is entitled to receive royalties for anything WWE produces that uses his voice or likeness. Naturally, this defeat did not sit well with Vince and, although Ventura has made a handful of WWE appearances since the lawsuit including a 2004 Hall Of Fame induction, the animosity between Jesse and Vince is no secret. Ventura holds a unique and likely prideful claim of being one of the only people to have legally defeated the mighty Vince McMahon.
