Why WWE Fans Should Expect WarGames "Craziness" At Survivor Series 2022

"Craziness" comes with the WarGames territory - but especially so at Survivor Series 2022.

WWE's version of the WarGames stipulation thrives on insane bumps and high spots above all else. A degree of "craziness" is therefore expected every time the promotion lowers the double cage, though fans should expect more when Dusty Rhodes' old concept returns for Survivor Series 2022.

On Tuesday, Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online tweeted to his Super Followers that "craziness" is coming to the WarGames matches at the 26 November premium live event.

Why?

Because WWE needs new footage for video packages (presumably highlighting the stipulation). The bulk of the material WWE currently has at hand for WarGames comes from NXT and prominently features wrestlers who are no longer with the promotion, like Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, Keith Lee, and Toni Storm. It is therefore understandable that Paul 'Triple H' Levesque and co. would be after new clips featuring wrestlers who are still around.

WarGames Comes To WWE's Main Roster

Survivor Series 2022 will be the first time WWE has hosted a WarGames match on a main roster show. That the stipulation was coming to the November PLE was announced in September, bringing new flavour to an event that had revolved around the poorly-received Brand Supremacy concept (that Triple H has seemingly done away with) pitting Raw against SmackDown for years.

In moving WarGames to the main roster, WWE effectively pulled it from NXT, where it had existed since the stipulation was brought back in 2017. The company has held eight dual-cage wars since then, with men's and women's incarnations becoming annual regulars in 2019.

The first pieces for this year's women's WarGames bout were put in place on this week's Raw. Following a challenge laid down by Bianca Belair, Asuka, and Alexa Bliss, the babyfaces must find two allies to fight Damage CTRL's Bayley, Dakota Kai, IYO SKY, plus Nikki Cross and one more TBD.
