This was an interesting twist in the career of Warrior, and a moment that a lot of people forget about. Brother Love was of course the most annoying character ever invented and had been tormenting babyfaces for three years up to that point. Warrior had just lost the WWF title to Sgt. Slaughter, and this was certainly an effective way for him to get his edge back and his heat back. Not only that, but he was basically given the honor of being the guy to finally exact revenge on the untouchable Brother Love once and for all, as the character was written out of the show after this beating and didnt return until Wrestlemania X-7s gimmick battle royale 10 years later. Not to get all deep here, but it showed a darker side to Warrior that he had been lacking as champion, which is probably why everyone stopped cheering for him. Maybe if he had kicked Loves butt sooner, he would have sold more tickets on top. Of course, he nearly killed poor Bruce Pritchard in the process, but sometimes one must suffer for their art. I should know, I reviewed WCW Thunder for three years.
