One thing WWE fans definitely didn't want was the company to go PG. In fact we wanted the exact opposite, with several calls for a return to the "Attitude Era" in the late 2000's. WWE did the exact opposite, going in the direction of PG content designed to curry favour with corporations and backers of Linda McMahon's senate bid. That's right, the WWE showed contempt for it's loyal fanbase in preference of satisfying the fickle whims of politicians and businessmen. Whilst the move has had its plus points, it often seems like we are getting "WWE Lite" with the PG enforcement. It may seem superficial, but the fact remains that all the swearing, beer drinking, sex and strong violence of the Attitude Era made unmissable entertainment. PG content in contrast is designed for kids, whereas in the past adults and kids alike enjoyed the show because it had a "cool" factor.
