WWE: 10 Most Boring Wrestlers Ever

By Dan Curtis /

9. John Cena

John Cena is an excellent WWE superstar. He's conquered everything he has to conquer, competed in some great matches and has risen to the very top echelon of the WWE's mysterious backstage tiers. He's also so stale he may as well be a husk of mouldy bread left right at the back of the breadbin for the past five years. It's a shame really, as John Cena has all the potential in the world to succeed. Instead he's been shoved down our throats far too much, we've seen him do everything he ever does a million times and we've had no character development from Cena for the past god-knows how long. Sure he connects with the kids in the audience, but there's a reason why people chant Cena Sucks every single night. It's not because we hate Cena (although some people's t-shirts often proclaim otherwise) it's rather we hate his character direction and general sense of cheesiness. In the world of television, not developing a character leads to something that people will eventually turn upon. You've only got to look at the evolution of Daniel Bryan and CM Punk to see how something can succeed if given the right tools to do so. Daniel Bryan is as hot as anyone in recent memory right now because he's got a catch catchphrase, connects with the fans and is awesome in the ring to go with it. People have been clamouring for years for Cena to take the plunge and finally turn heel, but I don't think that's necessary. I just want something that isn't just another Cena promo where he grins inanely while being booed. Is that too much to ask for?
