WWE: 10 Most Memorable Moments In Royal Rumble History

10. Rey Mysterio Wins, Lasts A Record 62 Minutes (2006)

On reflection, it's believed by many wrestling fans that Rey Mysterio essentially took the storyline that would have been awarded to Eddie Guerrero if not for his death 2 months prior. The entire storyline for Rey Mysterio's Rumble match was that he was doing it in honour of Eddie, and he ended up not only winning the Rumble after a tense two-on-one finale against Triple H and Randy Orton, but he also scored the Rumble record for the longest time spent in the ring, at 62 minutes and 12 seconds, no doubt in an attempt to clear the previous record holder, Chris Benoit, from the record books. Whether you agree with how much the WWE milked Guerrero's death or not, it was a great moment to see the most versatile small guy in the WWE make it into the big leagues, which would eventually lead to him winning the World Heavyweight Championship in a Triple Threat match against champion Kurt Angle and Randy Orton at WrestleMania 22.
