WWE: 10 Reasons You Should Be A Fan Right Now

10. The WWE Network Is Coming Soon

While no formal announcement has been made by anybody within WWE, the expectation is that in late February or early March the WWE Network will finally arrive after years of anticipation. Remember the promo that aired on Raw two years ago? At this point we don't know some of the exact specifications of the WWE Network (will it be $14.95 per month or $19.95?) and what kind of programming it will have, but I think it will be a must have for most WWE fans. If WWE is smart, they will fill it up with PPV events from the past, old episodes of Raw, Smackdown, Nitro, Thunder and everything else they have in their archives. They can air documentaries from their DVD library as well as specialty shows featuring a particular wrestler. Trust me, if you put on a best of Shawn Michaels show for two hours on a Saturday afternoon when nothing else is on I'm sure some fans are going to sit down to watch it even if they've seen the matches before. They could also air original programming that would allow for their talents to get more on-screen time, which is a good thing as well. It will change the company in the sense that the plan is to eliminate PPV purchases aside from WrestleMania. If you have the channel then you get a PPV event. I like that idea. Whether I watch it all the time or rarely, I have no idea at this point. There are times when I feel like five hours of Raw and Smackdown are enough WWE for me in a week. At other times I know I can watch more. Personally, I think it will be cool to get home at 2am in a drunken stupor (hey Rob Ford) and turn on WWE Network to watch some random match from 1989. There are channels for so many ridiculous things on television. Why not a WWE channel? They belong there. I hope the Network works out for WWE in terms of making their fans happy and also for creating another revenue stream for the company.
