Giant Gonzales was a huge man who had lots of talent like...um... like being really tall. That was about it. Vince McMahon has always loved his giants. From Andre the Giant to Giant Silva to The Big Show and The Great Khali, being big is an easy ticket to the company. But none of them were so absolutely, athletically inept as Giant Gonzales. His offense was ridiculous, his selling was comical, he couldn't cut a promo, his suit was bizarre and naked looking. None of it worked. That didn't stop the WWF from trying really hard. Gonzales was paired up with manager Harvey Whippleman, and was brought in to feud with The Undertaker. The two fought at WrestleMania IX in one of the worst matches in the event's history, and Undertaker was clearly not the one to blame for it. The two continued to battle all the way to SummerSlam where it mercifully ended with another Taker victory. That was pretty much it for Gonzales. The company had hopes of him battling Hulk Hogan for the WWF Title, but those plans never came to fruition. A pay-per-view main event between those two would have reached levels of awfulness not previously thought possible. If you're still a Gonzales apologist, think of this: he was so absolutely terrible in the ring, that he was let go by WCW!
