By my count, as far as PPV encounters where they have faced off against each other from 2010 to present are concerned, Sheamus and Randy Orton have been involved in 8 PPV matches. Of those 8 matches, only 3 of those matches were singles matches. Of those 3 singles matches, two of them ended in a DQ finish. In addition, all of these matches save one took place in 2010. As I have stated in my previous article, for a time I stepped away from watching wrestling on a consistent basis, so I am not aware of the face/heel dynamics of any previous encounters or feuds between Orton and Sheamus, but I am aware of a few key factors which we can look at to analyze our question for today.
4. It Would Require An Orton Heel Turn
Say what you will about Orton the person, Orton the wrestler is just fun to watch as a heel. Randy Orton just has one of those faces and one of those personalities where you just want to hate the guy, which is why his babyface runs just don't go that well. I enjoy Orton's work in the ring, I really do, but he is at his best when he is the vile, despicable heel you want to punch in the face. This feud with Sheamus will be no different, and Sheamus' demeanor helps with that as I find it very, very hard to hate the albino Irishman.
