First off, good for Zack Ryder for finally getting a nice on-air moment. Sure, it might have just been best to have Kevin Owens hold onto the gold to try and be built back up, but a big surprise like this now and then isn€™t a bad idea. In future multi-man matches that seem to have an obvious winner, you can point back to Ryder winning as an €œanything can happen€ feel. Unfortunately, that feel good moment lasted one day.

The thing is, even with the addition of Maryse, I can€™t get excited about The Miz holding the Intercontinental title again. He had it once in 2012, twice in 2013, and twice in 2014. His last run lasted a day. Are we really going back to this again?

If nothing else, someone like Baron Corbin winning the gold on Raw would have at least been different. It would have given him a strong push out of the gate, but going with The Miz makes Owens and Ryder look worse, and worst of all, feels incredibly stale.

Well, congrats again to Ryder who now has the second least cumulative amount of time with the belt in history, right in between The Mountie and Dean Douglas.
