WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Jan 10)

5. Rumble Stumble

On Raw, the wind was taken out of the sails of the mighty vessel known as the The Royal Rumble in one dramatic moment when it was announced Roman Reigns must defend his title in the match. It was a Superman punch to our collective balls/ovaries. There€™s a couple of different ways this can play out: Roman somehow defies the odds for the 343rd time, wins the Rumble again, which pisses off the majority of the crowd. HHH comes in at No. 30 to win the Rumble himself, setting up a WrestleMania match with Roman. Brock Lesnar is entered in the match and wins, and then we have Roman vs. Brock Round 2 at Mania. Any of the choices is a bad choice. For starters, Roman turning into a superhero and winning is essentially what we€™ve gone through with John Cena the past decade. He€™s also been screwed out of the title so many times, that winning the thing doesn€™t mean anything. Why doesn€™t he just quit and go to UFC where he can at least have a fair fight? Hunter winning means we€™ll get like a 6 out of 10 match, at best, in the Mania main event, and a Brock victory means he probably has to turn heel again, and fans are quite likely not going to cheer Roman in that bout. If WWE had a little more patience, they could have just saved Sheamus vs. Reigns with Vince as ref until The Rumble. But there are no heels who are over enough to fight Reigns one-on-one, so he has to be put into the ultimate 29 men vs. him match. The odds are, that€™s not going to be good.
