Before I sound like too much of an a-hole for not wanting WWE to name a charitable award after The Ultimate Warrior, go back and read something that was written while Warrior was alive: Bret Harts autobiography. In the book, Bret describes how Warrior was supposed to have a meet and greet with a Make-A-Wish child during a show. Bret described the kid being down to his last few hours. However, Warrior kept that child waiting for hours and hours. The PR team kept checking in to see if Warrior would come out and he said In a f***ing minute. Im busy. Others like Andre, Hogan and Bret all took time to visit the kid, but not the supposed hero Warrior. Bret was rightfully disgusted. So then, the man dies, and the first person who receives the award named after him is a child who died shortly after his Make-A-Wish? Kind of messed up. Even if you think Bret made that story up (for whatever reason), Warrior said many hateful (gloating about Bobby Heenans cancer), homophobic ("q***ing don't make the world work"), and racist things in his time. Not when he was 20, and young and dumb. He continued this into his 40s and 50s. But lets ignore all that. Make an award honoring him, because he's no longer with us and...um... the tassels were pretty cool right?
