6. Corbin Takes The Loss
Nothing says monster heel quite like having them lose cleanly a few weeks into their run on the pay-per-view pre-show. WWE can be so frustrating, because they build people and angles up, and then almost never get anything out of it.
They should have had Baron Corbin winning for months, then eventually someone beats him. That way, Corbin looks like a badass for his winning streak, and another wrestler gets to benefit from pinning him. Ziggler winning at Payback did absolutely nothing for him. Its just more unnecessary 50/50 booking.
The next night on Raw, WWE continued to make Corbin look mediocre by having him get tossed out of the battle royal. Wasnt this the guy who won the Andre the Giant battle royal at WrestleMania? Either dont put the guy in the match if you dont want him to win, or put him in the match and have him win.
Corbin coming back to Earth so soon just highlights the big differences between WWEs brands. In NXT they let the man win for months, and made him look unstoppable. He was devastating to the point where the audience counted how long it would take for him to win. Now hes just another guy.
Its not his End of Days (please forgive me), but its definitely not a good start. Unfortunately, this wasnt the only bad, bone-headed booking decision WWE had this week.
