Jerry Lawler has always been incredibly dated. His jokes sound more fit for a TV variety show from the 1950s than a wrestling show in 2014. In an odd way, though, its kind of endearing. Its also his schtick. But when JBL is doing the same thing (whether its on purpose or not), it just feels like the announce crew is out of touch and behind the times. With how lame WWE can be, it would be nice if there was someone who could speak to us and understand our modern world. On Raw, Tyson Kidd was visually disinterested in Rosa Medes match (this makes him a babyface to me) and JBL questioned What's he doing, playing Pacman? Yes JBL, Tyson Kidd is playing Pacman on his phone. Good God, could he not have come up with anything that was released after 1980? How about Angry Birds? Clash of Clans? Or Kim Kardashians game? I would believe that Natalya downloaded that on his pone. But no, that would take actual effort on JBL's part to find something current. Later that night and on SmackDown, he also made references to Harpo Marx (died in 1964), Lucille Ball (who had Americas biggest show in the 1950s) and Ernest Borgneine (who I most fondly remember from a 1993 Simpsons episode). Well, maybe JBL will take comfort in knowing hes not alone. Also on Raw, The Big Show hit Rusev with the devastating blow of You cant handle the truth! Thanks for that quote from a 1992 movie Big Show. Next week please hit us with Wheres the Beef?
