WWE Cancelled Edge's Travel Plans For Last Night's Raw
The former Judgment Day leader had been tipped for a WWE return on Raw.
Although WWE had at one point planned for Edge to return on last night's episode of Raw, there was no sign of the former Judgment Day leader inside Madison Square Garden.
Edge was instead limited to one of the mysterious vignettes that have been airing to build up his eventual comeback. The veteran has now been out of action for seven weeks, having been written out when The Judgment Day turned on him on the 6 June Raw, with a freshly-turned Finn Balor taking his leadership role.
Fightful Select noted in a pre-Raw report that WWE had cancelled some parts of Edge's travel plans ahead of last night's show. There was no word on how this might impact plans at the time of publishing, though Edge was conspicuous by his absence on the broadcast.
It was stressed in Fightful's original report on Edge's MSG return that nothing was set in stone for him to return on 25 July. "Card subject to change" remains an eternal disclaimer in professional wrestling.
Without Edge to war with, Judgment Day members Balor and Damian Priest will face Rey and Dominik Mysterio at SummerSlam 2022 this Saturday (30 July).
