WWE Clash Of Champions 2016: 10 Things You May Have Missed
3. WWE United States Title Change Was Greeted With Booming Cheers
Already on Twitter, there are those criticising the fact that Roman Reigns is the new WWE United States Champion. WWE may never be able to please everybody when it comes to Reigns, he's tarnished goods in the eyes of some. Even so, the guy still has his supporters, and they were out in force at Clash Of Champions.
Perhaps it was the way the finish to Reigns vs. Rusev was built up that appealed to the live crowd, but they were more positive than negative when Roman pinned his Bulgarian rival to bag the title. Just as they had earlier in the evening for Brian Kendrick's head butt, the fans roared their approval when Reigns nabbed the win.
In this era of forgetting that Roman Reigns has an upside, it's easy to gloss over the things WWE do right with the man. This was one such moment, his victory popped the audience.
It's stunning that WWE didn't instruct the announcers to talk up the reaction, Cole and crew didn't really discuss the fact that Reigns was cheered. The pop didn't last too long, but that Spear and resultant pin went over huge.
