WWE Extreme Rules 2018: 10 Things We Learned

2. Bobby Lashley Has Replaced Roman Reigns In The Universal Championship Picture

While Bobby Lashley vs. Roman Reigns wasn't exactly the match any of us were looking forward to seeing, it ended up becoming one of the biggest talking points of the evening. Lashley shocked us all when he defeated Reigns clean at the event and it finally made us see that this feud may have had purpose after all.

While nothing had been spoken about it, many of us saw this match as an unofficial No.1 Contender's Match for Brock Lesnar's Universal Championship. Lashley would later confirm on the Extreme Rules post-show that he does indeed want to battle Lesnar. This leaves us wondering if Lashley's vision could end up becoming a reality at SummerSlam.

Though we initially expected to see Lesnar vs. Reigns IV (because everyone totally wanted to see them go at it again, right?), Lashley's victory suggests a change of plans on WWE's part. With all the backlash they received over Brock and Roman's previous matches, perhaps WWE officials have finally decided to go in a different direction. And that direction could involve Bobby Lashley.
