WWE Extreme Rules 2018: 10 Things We Learned

3. Kane Is Legitimately Injured

During the week, rumors began to circulate that Kane had suffered an injury as he was spotted in Knox County, Tennessee wearing a medical walker boot, but he assured fans that the injury wasn't wrestling-related and that he would be at Extreme Rules. However, at the PPV, Team Hell No were attacked before their match by the Bludgeon Brothers. The SmackDown Tag Team Champions focused their attack on Kane's ankle, which seemingly wrote him out of the match.

The Big Red Machine would later make his presence felt, arriving late to the match to aid his partner, Daniel Bryan. However, he was sporting the walker boot that he had been seen wearing during the week, and did very little during the match.

These developments confirm that Kane's injury could be pretty serious. The veteran has worked through injuries in the past, but if WWE had to write this one into the storyline and allow him to wear the boot during the match, it's clear that he is legitimately hurt. While we don't know if he'll be sticking around for much longer due to his mayoral run, let's hope that he makes a speedy recovery.
