WWE yesterday issued a statement to Wrestling Inc. that they would be fining Dylan Miley (aka Lars Sullivan) $100,000 for his past controversial comments made on a Bodybuilding.com message board.

The remarks, which have been described as misogynistic and bigoted, were made prior to him signing with WWE and include criticism of the likes of Vince McMahon, Daniel Bryan, and AJ Styles.

They recently resurfaced after a Reddit user compiled a list of his problematic historical posts and sparked a wave of internet backlash towards the wrestler. Mars Wrigley Confectionery, a top sponsor of WWE's, allegedly were made aware of the issue and subsequently encouraged WWE to swiftly take action to avoid further controversy.

Sullivan issued an apology last week on matter, stating:-

“There is no excuse for the inappropriate remarks that I made years ago. They do not reflect my personal beliefs nor who I am today, and I apologize to anyone I offended.”

As well as the hefty fine for Sullivan, he will be required to complete sensitivity training and the company will work with him to meet with community organisations to discuss the power of social media & the impact his words can have.
