Then: It's frankly unbelievable that Viktor was in WWE's system for 8 long years and nobody thought to pitch his catchphrase as: 'To the Viktor go the spoils'. Won't somebody please think of the merchandise dollars?! They left cold, hard cash on the table with that one. Those t-shirts would've sold out in a hurry. OK, maybe not.

Ascension man Vik didn't have a ton of time to think about raking it in at the merch stalls anyway, because he was in and out of there in just 51 seconds during the Greatest Royal Rumble. That was a long haul flight to stick some makeup on, grimace a bit, then get thrown out of the match by Daniel Bryan.

A gig's a gig.

The Ascension were pretty much dead in the water as a serious ongoing concern by the time that PLE rolled around anyway. WWE had given up on trying to turn them into a modern retelling of The Road Warriors-meets-Powers Of Pain-meets-Demolition. Fans just didn't really care, and neither did the office.

Now: Post-WWE, Viktor and Konnor had some fun together on the independent scene. After that, Vik renamed himself Zyon and tried his luck in the NWA. That's where he's been ever since, and...well, there isn't too much more to say.

The 44 year old Canadian probably won't be showing back up in WWE in the near future. It's not like he'd have a Hall Of Fame berth waiting on him if he did. The Ascension flopped hard following an impressive start in developmental territory NXT.
