WWE Money In The Bank 2026: 9 Things That NEED To Happen

2. Penta Wins Money In The Bank

Initially, Trick Williams was the pick here, but he's the current United States Champion and probably has a ways to go before he's in the top title scene. Trick has to shed Lil Yachty, give his belt the haircut Baron Corbin lied about, and maybe level up in singles action before he'll be viewed as a dead cert for the WWE or World Titles.

So, if it isn't Trick Willy and the veteran combo of Kevin Owens and CM Punk get taken out in that previously-hyped stacked tables spot, then who's taking the Mr. MITB prize? Bron Breakker? Hmm, it's possible but he isn't the choice on this occasion. Je'Von Evans? Nowhere near ready for this kind of prestige and pressure.

That leaves one man: Penta.

He worked a stunning title bout vs. Roman Reigns in Mexico City on the 14 September Raw. It's one that'll live long in the memory, and we could see echos of it in time for Money In The Bank. The question is this: Was that exclusively done to capitalise on the masked man's popularity in his homeland, or was it WWE's way of testing the waters to see if Penta's ready for more?

That'll all depend on the report card Roman logged with management after Mexico City. Personally, this writer would love to see Penta win Money In The Bank and move towards a guaranteed World Title run. He's been excellent since joining the company, and that match vs. Roman really should act as a preview of things to come for him.
