WWE RAW 2/25/2013: 5 Things We Learned

1. CM Punk Sets The Stage For The Return of The Phenom

Part way through the show this week, CM Punk took to the ring and he cut another fantastic promo. What was different this time around, aside from not having Paul Heyman accompanying him, was the overall tone of his promo. It pushed the envelope...again. Punk picked up the rhetoric that he has echoed so many times before, but he goes from being Best in the World to calling himself iconic. By referring to himself as an icon, CM Punk begs the pardon of all the greats who have come before him. There is no doubt, CM Punk is great, and after this run towards 'Mania is over he may very well become iconic, with his name being spoken alongside The HeartBreak Kid, Bret Hart, and all the others. And what he accomplished with his promo this week was that he began to turn the wheels towards his Wrestlemania run. Iconic is a term not often used, and to be sure those in the industry whom are still able to perform will stand up and take exception. So: enter The Undertaker. The Phenom returned to action this past weekend at a local house show in Texas, and you can bet it will not be long before he returns to television to confront CM Punk, demanding he prove he really is the Best in the World, and worthy of the status of being called ICONIC.
