WWE RAW 3/11/2013: 5 Things We Learned

By JD Shrader /

3. Paul Heyman Has Two Words For You

The aforementioned Paul Heyman continues to do the best work of his entire career as he floats between working for CM Punk, and continuing his professional relationship with Brock Lesnar. This week was another outstanding example of why Heyman is so critically important to Lesnar's act: Brock continues to be the destructive muscle, and Heyman delivers the words to back him up and set the storylines in motion, in turn keeping us all glued to the TV for their segments. A nice touch by the writers to look ahead and put in place a stipulation for the HHH/Lesnar match, and Paul Heyman's delivery makes it feel that much more dramatic.

2. The Wrestlemania Undercard Begins To Take Shape

This week we finally got some movement in the way of the undercard development for the Wrestlemania card. Team Rhodes Scholars were on TV in a total of 3 segments this week, hopefully underscoring the fact that they will ultimately challenge for the Tag Titles at Wrestlemania. WWE continues to push Wade Barrett and The Miz, but putting Jericho in the mix feels like a desperate attempt to bring attention to the feud. Alberto del Rio and Swagger continue to sputter towards their confrontation, and we still are mostly unclear where Big Show, Sheamus, Ziggler, and The Shield will wind up on the 'Mania card. One thing is for sure though: thank god for the return of The Bella Twins. Even if it is only temporary, they are a welcome site to a Divas Division that has become an afterthought.
