A man who has barely been out of Raw's main event picture since he cashed in Money in the Bank way back at WrestleMania 31, Rollins no more fits the mould of a rise-up-the-ranks Rumble hopeful - although, once again, this hasn't stopped WWE in the past.

There are also obvious parallels with 2015's winner Roman Reigns, who for a long time functioned as The Authority's - and more to the point, Triple H's - chief antagonist. While The Game has yet to reveal the reason he cost Rollins his chance at the Universal Championship (knowing WWE, don't expect it to make any sense), a Rumble win for the Architect could be the perfect fuel to reignite their feud.
