WWE Royal Rumble 2018: 10 Suprise Entrants We Could See
4. Pete Dunne
Like Wade Barrett and EC3, there's a good reason to believe that WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne will be entering this year's Royal Rumble match. Scheduled to appear at Britannia Wrestling's Royally Rumbled show this weekend, it was announced on the 20 January that the Bruiserweight had to pull out of the event due to contractual obligations with WWE.
There's a chance that Dunne could simply be making an appearance at NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia, but it seems an odd decision to force the popular young star to cancel a wrestling appearance and fly all the way to the USA just to be shown sitting in the crowd of a WWE Network event.
Following his appearance on the 6 November edition of Raw (which emanated from Manchester, England), it would make sense for Dunne to appear during the Rumble. Fans of NXT and the UK Championship Tournament from last year are already enamoured with him, and casual fans are at least familiar with him, following his victory over then-Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore on Raw.
While it's highly unlikely that a Rumble appearance would lead to a main roster promotion, a one-off appearance would be a great moment, both for Dunne and the Royal Rumble match itself.
