WWE has started filling up the fields of 30 for both the men's and women's Royal Rumble matches respectively. Announcements began on the 16 January episode of SmackDown with former WWE Champ Cody Rhodes, then continued on the following Monday's edition of Raw and have persisted since on TV. Many, many more are expected to flood TV before the company jets off to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for the 31 January PLE.

Truthfully, the near-mystical 'Road To WrestleMania' has already kicked off behind the scenes creatively, but the Rumble show is generally considered an on-camera kick off to that stretch for most fans. It's a firm favourite on the calendar, it brings back lapsed fans who have fallen off, and this marks the first time the traditional 30-strong Rumble card has taken place outside of the United States.

WWE has gone international a fair bit in recent years, so it was always inevitable that they'd take the Rumble worldwide. Of course, Saudi previously received the critically panned Greatest Royal Rumble PLE back in 2018 - that confused a lot of folks by piggy-backing on the 'actual' Rumble earlier the same year.

It'll be interesting to see who's in the frame to win both Rumbles this year. 2025 winners Jey Uso and Charlotte Flair seemed like surprising picks at the time, so maybe Triple H and his writers will have some more shocks waiting for fans in Saudi.

Speaking of shocks, reports suggest that top stars like Tiffany Stratton could be on the comeback trail for the women's match in Riyadh. If that happens, then it's safe to assume that Stratton won't be the only surprise WWE has in mind for this year's Royal Rumble PLE - fans expect at least a handful of shock entrants to keep things interesting.
