Things continue to be shaken up for Survivor Series, as SmackDown's team has lost one of their members for the 5-on-5 match.

At the tapings today they ran an angle where Baron Corbin went down with an injury, and Shane McMahon was announced to take his place.

This is a bit of an interesting move on their part. Perhaps they didn't want to have Corbin going up against Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman yet, or maybe they wanted to give Shane a chance to look good in a match, so they can build towards his showdown against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania.

For some fans, this may make the match a bit more exciting, but Shane's track record for representing a brand isn't so hot. After all, he came out on the losing side of the Alliance vs. WWF Survivor Series elimination match in 2001. It must also be noted that he has not won a wrestling match since 21 Apr. 2009 when he teamed up with Batista to defeat Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. James Ellsworth would have been a better choice for the team.

For SmackDown's sake, hopefully Shane spent some more time in the gym, and has learned that jumping off of tall things is not the key to victory.
