WWE Stars React To WrestleMania 42 Security Chaos: "We Were F***ed From The Beginning" (WWE News)
Various WWE wrestlers and staff members recall awful security measures in Las Vegas.
Fightful Select has been reporting on all of the fallout from WrestleMania 42 weekend in Las Vegas. If you've been following certain workers on social media, then you'll have heard something about the "bad" security measures at the hotel WWE's roster and staff were staying at.
Various wrestlers and staff members have since spoken out about the sometimes staggering number of people hanging around the lobby looking for autographs or pictures with talent. None of the workers were named by Fightful, but a former WWE Champion said that "a lot of fans use their kids to get us to sign things - if we don't, they put phones in our face and try to guilt trip us".
Meanwhile, another star offered: "It’s WrestleMania and there are wrestling fans in town. What do people expect?". That wasn't exactly the universally held view!
Another member of the roster said that things have worsened due to lofty prices rising under TKO's ownership, but also pointed fingers at Fanatics for soaring meet n' greet admission. That has priced a lot of people out of attending WWE events, whether they're personal appearances, PLEs, or anything in between.
A number of incidents occurred in and around the hotel. CM Punk made headlines for slapping a phone out of someone's hand when they followed AJ Lee and Bayley to film them. Others such as Royce Keys, Booker T, Damian Priest, Seth Rollins and guest legends like Sean 'X-Pac' Waltman also had run-ins with people.
A "prominent" female wrestler said: "It's Vegas, we were f***ed from the beginning. WWE never actually pre-arranges good security. It's like they wait until s*** happens, then they do damage control or add security. We love the personal security teams, and they did as much as they could, but hotel security was busy taking care of the problems you already have in Las Vegas".
Fightful claims they reached out for official word from WWE management but didn't hear back.
