WWE Super Show-Down: 8 Things We Learned

8. WWE Still Isn't Ready For Asuka

Poor Asuka. 2018 started out so very well for her.

'The Empress of Tomorrow' won the first ever women's Royal Rumble and put her undefeated streak on the line at WrestleMania against Charlotte Flair, for the SmackDown Women's Championship. A first loss was inevitable, but the two that followed (and the horrid writing) absolutely demolished every single ounce of momentum she ever had. Now, she's lucky to be featured on any card whatsoever.

Speaking of which, she finally made her PPV return at Super Show-Down, teaming with Naomi in a tag team match that was simply designed to give Australian duo The IIconics a big win Down Under.

Unfortunately for Asuka, she was taken out on the outside as Peyton Royce and Billie Kay scored the victory over a fallen Naomi. While she wasn't the one pinned, another loss on PPV certainly doesn't help the little (if any) momentum she had left. Moreover, taking her off TV for months, simply for her to return and end up on the losing side again is either really lazy writing, or more proof that WWE still hasn't a clue what to do with her. Unfortunately, neither of those circumstances bode well for the 'Empress of Tomorrow'.
