WWE WrestleMania 35: 8 Most Likely Outcomes
8. The Demon Breathes New Life Into The Intercontinental Championship Match
When Finn Bálor won the Intercontinental Championship at Elimination Chamber, it incited genuine elation from the WWE Universe - many of whom had been waiting for him to crawl his way out of the hole that the creative team dug for him two years ago.
That said, the title victory was a little underwhelming because he pinned Lio Rush instead of Bobby Lashley. WWE clearly felt the same because they quickly had Lashley regain the gold, presumably saving Finn's real feelgood moment for 'Mania. The only problem with this vaguely decent idea is that it has meant countless weeks of match variations involving Lashley, Bálor and Rush in an attempt to drag the storyline out and, in doing so, has diluted our desire to see it all again at the 'Showcase Of The Immortals'.
However, Bálor confirmed on Raw that he would be resurrecting his demonic alter-ego for the upcoming match. A wise choice on everyone's part, the sight of 'The Demon' Finn Bálor won't just make the match a lot more visually appealing, it will reinvigorate the rivalry, helping set this contest apart from the multiple rehashes we've already seen and ultimately give it that special main-event feel.
Finally, it will propel Bálor to victory and allow 'The Demon' to celebrate with the gold in a truly feel-good moment, reminiscent of when he won the Universal Championship back in 2016. Hopefully he can pick up from there and forget that the past few years ever happened.
