Following the events of last night's Elimination Chamber PLE, could WWE still somehow get Sami Zayn involved in WrestleMania 39's Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match?

Of course, Zayn ultimately came up short in his quest to dethrone Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber, but many have pondered whether the groundswell of support behind the Canadian will lead to him getting inserted into the advertised Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes bout at this year's Showcase of the Immortals.

Addressing this matter of the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer is under the belief that WWE will not deviate from Reigns vs. Rhodes at 'Mania 39... but that obviously plans can always change.

Via WrestlingNews.co, Meltzer noted:

"I know what the plan was as of even a week ago, and it was Roman and Cody. It's not Sami being thrown in. Could they do it? They could always change. I thought watching the Cody interview with Sami [on last week's WWE Raw], 'Maybe you do make it a three-way'."

The Observer founded would later add:

"Look, I was told that they weren't going to do anything with the Sami thing, but you always go... it could always change."

If indeed WWE opts to move forward with Rhodes vs. Reigns at the Granddaddy of Them All, the current signs and speculation suggest that Sami Zayn will find himself teaming with Kevin Owens to take on the Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles.
