WWE's Endgame For Sami Zayn Has Become Clear (WWE News)
The REAL reason Sami Zayn is your new WWE Champion...
With Sami Zayn having shocked the world earlier this month by defeating CM Punk to regain the WWE Championship, many have speculated that Punk will be the one to eventually take that title back from Sami.
Speaking on that matter during the latest Self Made Sessions, Self Made Pro initially thought it would be CM Punk who Zayn would lose the belt to, potentially at the Worlds Collide show in the Chicago area next weekend, which goes head-to-head with AEW All Out. However, from people Self Made Pro has spoken to, there's more of an expectation that Sami's title win was viewed as a way to eventually get the WWE Championship onto Kevin Owens, with KO being the one to beat the Underdog from the Underground.
Of course, Kevin Owens made his surprise return to action at SummerSlam last month, returning after 17 months out of action due to a neck injury that required surgery. At SummerSlam, Owens - and Gunther, for that matter - would be inserted into the Finn Balor vs. Sami Zayn match to crown the number one contender for the WWE Championship. And by the time all was said and done, it was Owens standing tall as the winner, and he'd go on to unsuccessfully challenge CM Punk for the WWE Title on a Toronto-held SmackDown last month; a title shot that saw Kevin fall short after bungled interference from Sami Zayn.
It remains to be seen if and when WWE does decide to go with Kevin Owens beating Sami Zayn for the WWE Title, though recent reports suggest that Sami will be holding onto the gold at least until Crown Jewel in November, with part of the reason for Zayn defeated CM Punk in the first place being to set up WWE Champion Sami Zayn vs. World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns for the Crown Jewel Championship in Saudi Arabia later this year.
