Will WWE attempt to keep Dragon Lee?
With Dragon Lee's existing WWE contract due to expire before the year is out, there's now somewhat of an update on Dragon's potential future.
Per WrestleVotes Live on Fightful Select, WWE is keen to keep hold of Dragon Lee and tie him down to a new deal. As for how the company views Lee, his tag team with AJ Styles, his involvement in the WrestleMania 42 ladder match for the Intercontinental Title, and his regular use on TV in recent weeks and months are all indicators that WWE wants to keep hold of the hugely talented 31-year-old.
It was also noted that Dragon Lee has additional value because of AAA now being under the WWE banner, and how his style and gimmick bring crossover appeal for AAA.
Ultimately, it was noted that the decision to stay with WWE or not will come down to Dragon Lee. Essentially, WWE will be making Dragon an offer, and it's a case of whether that offer is deemed suitable by the man himself. When compared to the recent WWE exit of Ilja Dragunov - Ilja turning down a pay cut to remain with WWE - it was noted that Dragon Lee has far more value to WWE than Dragunov did.
For those unaware, Dragon Lee's brother Dralistico also has his AEW contract expiring soon, too, amidst speculation that the two may end up teaming up somewhere as Hermanos Lee, particularly after the siblings recently trademarked that team name. Then there is the third brother, Rush, who's sitting on the sidelines in AEW, despite announcing that he's "healthy and ready" to compete.
