4. Becky Bounces Back While AJ Delivers

WWE

Last week, Becky Lynch turned in such a cartoonish performance that it actively damaged herself, her storyline, and her opponent in the feud, AJ Lee.

Monday night, both wrestlers emerged in a much better position.

Lee skipped out first, lamenting how she hasn’t had a singles match for more than a decade (longer for a title), and then observing how the landscape had changed so dramatically since she left in early 2015. AJ took credit for the evolution of WWE's women’s division and suggested that Lynch was running scared.

The Man appeared at this point, but rather than setting her reactions to “delusional cowering,” Becky had a bit of swagger to her step, telling AJ that Elimination Chamber was an opportunity to gather Lee’s family and friends to say goodbye to her and her career.

AJ tried to goad Becky into attacking, but Lynch pointed out that she couldn’t swing because that could give Lee an “out” to back out of their match, and left.

Overall, this was a better week for this feud and for the Becky Lynch character, which has become far too cartoonish and weak when dealing with AJ. Mixing in some actual confidence and toning the delusional behavior was a very smart move, making this a very passable week.
