A lot has been written about the House of M, but there's a reason for this. - it's one of the best X-Men stories ever written.

When a distraught Wanda Maximoff lost her marbles after she'd killed her husband, it fell to her friends and teams mates to decide what they should do with her. They discussed ways of containing her immense power, but even Charles Xavier couldn't help there, so they put it to a vote. Should they kill her or not?

When the Scarlet Witch got wind of this, she did the one thing that nobody could've predicted and warped reality to her own liking, giving her the family and life she'd always wanted.

Brought to you by Brian Michael Bendis and Olivier Coipel, this 2005 event was a fantastic look at what would happen if the boot were on the other foot, and it was mutants who were the dominant species.

It should also be applauded for it's handling of a very difficult subject, with its depiction of Wanda's mental breakdown a clear highlight.
