One of the most fascinating parts of Powers of X has been seeing how Moira began the journey that she's currently on. After living through countless devastating futures for mutant-kind, it's quite clear that she's running out of options. So instead of going it alone, she tells Xavier to read her mind so she could share her experiences with him.

This proved to be the catalyst in Xavier's recent change in philosophy and - as Marvel put it many months ago - turned out the biggest moment in X-Men history. So instead of fighting against his fellow mutants due to their different ideals, Xavier decides to unite them all under one banner to help aid their survival.

He begins with Magneto, bringing the Master of Magnetism on board by sharing what Moira showed him. He then gets another former enemy in Mister Sinister involved due to his knowledge of mutant genetics, specifically the ability to copy mutant DNA. Lastly, he tells Forge to alter Cerebro into a device that can make a copy of a mutant's mind.

Considering there's a gigantic threat to mutant-kind on the horizon, it makes sense that he would team-up with Magneto and Forge. However, it's his dealings with Mr. Sinister that will really prove that we're dealing with a new version of Charles Xavier.
