7. Terrifier 3

The Terrifier movies certainly aren't strangers to going crazy, and they always come up with a good final showdown. Nevertheless, franchise creator Damian Leone outdid himself with Terrifier 3, which delivers arguably the nuttiest conclusion to any of these movies thus far.

This is another mad finale featuring protagonist Sienna (Lauren LaVera) battling Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) with her magical sword, a nightmarish death scene involving rats and a tube, as well as the demonic blood of Art's sidekick, Victoria (Samantha Scaffidi), opening up a literal portal to Hell, which Sienna's cousin Gabbie (Antonella Rose) then falls into. This sets up Terrifier 4, which will apparently feature Sienna journeying into Hell to rescue her cousin. 

Another WTF thing about this climax concerns what we don't see. A severed head present during the final battle is eventually revealed to be that of Jonathan (Elliot Fullam), Sienna's brother. It's not like this franchise to skimp on the spectacle of human suffering or to leave any deaths off-screen, let alone the death of a major character. 

The Terrifier films are gratuitous, exhausting, and excessively cruel, so their artistic merits are debatable, but what certainly isn't up for debate is Leone's commitment to his craft, or his aptitude for delivering spectacularly unhinged set-pieces that aren't like anything else in the slasher subgenre.
