9. Colin Farrell - Alexander The Great (Alexander)
I'm still not sure why this happened, but it did, and some people even went out and paid money to see it - not even as a joke or anything, but because they thought it might be fun. You know, hoping that they could have a good time with a movie. And yet the insanity levels to be associated with whoever OK'd this little casting decision were seriously high: things went wrong, to say the least. Look, I'm all for actors looking to expand their horizons and change things up, but Colin... c'mon. You're a smart guy, I'm sure. What happened? Why did you think you were right for Alexander The Great? Oliver Stone's movie wasn't a particularly good one, but Farrell proves to be such a jarring, ill-fitting lead because he continually fails to convince you that he's really who he's pretending to be. And I know "looks" don't matter when it comes to acting, but Farrell genuinely looks wrong. Like he's dressed up in a costume. Which, yes, the keen-eyed amongst you will have probably noticed is exactly what is happening here. Farrell just doesn't reek of intelligence (the real Alexander totally stunk of it, apparently). You just don't hinge a three hour historical epic on the man who played the bad guy in Daredevil (or anyone that was in Daredevil, to be perfectly frank).
