Bruce Willis has always been game to return, but based on his recent output where he makes it clear that he really can't be bothered anymore, you can gather that the hefty paycheck might have something to do with it. A prequel series based on the Die Hard: Year One comic book was once in the works, but the project quickly fell apart once Disney acquired the rights to the franchise following their acquisition of Fox.

While it eventually succumbed to the law of diminishing returns, Die Hard will always remain a near-perfect action movie, and the fact that few movies in the entire genre have even come close to matching it over the last three decades just goes to show how it managed to capture lightning in a bottle.

Disney have already made their intentions to dominate every aspect of the entertainment industry ominously clear, but even the mere thought of the family-friendly corporate monoliths contemplating going anywhere near Die Hard is enough to send shivers down the spine of every fan.
