10 Upcoming Movies Destined To Piss Off Fans
7. X-Men: Dark Phoenix
X-Men: Dark Phoenix is in a tough spot. With the MCU’s acquisition of the X-Men franchise, this is end of the line. It’s had some stumbles along the way but had taken on an iconic comic book arc to try and re-establish itself.
That said, this new generation has had long enough to establish themselves and apart from Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy (as well as Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence in places), they haven’t really done so.
Despite Sansa Stark’s transformation across Game Of Thrones eight seasons, Sophie Turner hasn’t built up the following Dinklage, Clarke, Harrington or Coster-Waldau have. Perhaps because of her reserved stoicism, it hasn’t proven so far to be a breakout role.
Though she did as good as job as any of the new blood in X-Men: Apocalypse, she didn’t seem ready to step up to the starring role Dark Phoenix has thrust upon her.
Each trailer has looked better than the last and reshoots seem to have helped it, but time will tell.
Considering how frequently the X-Men franchise has stumbled with main series flicks recently, taking one of the most beloved comics ever might have been a bridge too far anyway.
