10 Upcoming Movies With Troubled Productions
4. Bad Boys For Life
The third installment in the Bad Boys series is finally filming and is set for release in January of next year. The sequel to Bad Boys 2 has been well over a decade in the making and faced major hurdles even getting off the ground.
The film had a screenwriter in The Town's Peter Craig as early as 2009, but has since passed through the hands of three writers, with Chris Bremner finishing the narrative.
Finding a Director was just as painful, as Michael Bay was no longer tied to the franchise. Joe Carnahan held the title as Director from 2014-2017, before leaving with scheduling conflicts. With Carnahan's departure, the film was removed from the slate entirely for several months until Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah signed on for the job.
This list is filled with films that went through (and in some cases are in the midst of) turbulent productions, but Bad Boys For Life may have had the roughest time in Development Hell. Given the previous films in the franchise, it will be a pleasant surprise if the result becomes worth it.
